TAKE YOUR PICK of Christmas villains: Scrooge, the Grinch, Mr Potter in “It’s A Wonderful Life” or The Abominable Snowmonster of the North who tortured poor Rudolph and co in “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer.” (Spoiler: He turns good in the end)…
I’ve been cursing them all. But just as the Snowmonster turns good, so does the snow at Platty. The rain has threatened the holidays. There’s no other way to put it. There was a meltdown just as things were getting going, but a couple inches have fallen and the snowmakers have been on the job. And I can say my wish: All I want for Christmas is a white Christmas is coming true this year. Phew. I was beginning to act like the Snowmonster before his turn towards kindliness.
Pictures of snowmaking on the day after the Grinch came to town:
And there will be merry-making in the bar with apres all week when the hill opens on Dec 26 (after giving the snowmakers a day of rest to celebrate and sleep… ). Be sure to catch the very awesome Jessi Mason on Dec 29 in the Blockbuster bar… And I do think my holiday wishes have been heard. Latest forecasts are calling for a weak Stratospheric Polar Vortex, that translates into a much colder winter in store for us, starting in January. And, I’m away from Jan 6-13 out West, which always = a reliable blizzard here…
